Many people ask where my recipes come from and how I know what will work best for each person, so I wanted to share a little more about myself and my business. For the past two years, I have been studying herbalism through a lifetime course offered by Healing Harvest Homestead in America. The wonderful herbalist who teaches the course has over 40 years of experience, and she shares tried-and-tested recipes that have been used successfully for 20 to 30 years. Not only do we have access to these amazing recipes, but we also continue learning every month through masterclasses and a dedicated student group where we can ask questions and receive support whenever needed. I also studied Aromatherapy Level 2 through the same program, which has given me even more confidence and knowledge in working with essential oils and natural remedies. One thing I always want people to understand is that every body is different. What works beautifully for one person may not work the same for another. Herbs and essential oils are powerful, but they need to be chosen carefully for each individual person. That is why I often recommend a consultation before preparing tinctures, medicinal teas, or essential oil blends. This helps me make sure that the remedy is safe, suitable, and the best possible fit for your unique needs. I also did certified courses as Menopause Coach and Gut Healing Practitioner to broaden my knowledge.

For me, creating herbal products has never been about following trends or copying recipes from the internet. Every formulation begins with understanding—understanding the herbs, their traditional uses, their safety, and the purpose behind every ingredient.
My journey is one of lifelong learning. As a Clinical Herbalist, Aromatherapist, Natural Health Practitioner, and Menopause Coach, I continue to expand my knowledge through ongoing study because I believe there is always more to learn.
Every course I complete strengthens my ability to create thoughtful products and to educate those who trust Healing Herbs Apothecary.
Whether I'm harvesting herbs from my garden, preparing a botanical infusion, or developing a new formulation, my goal remains the same: To create natural products with knowledge, integrity, and care.

I am a 63 year old woman who has undergone surgery to remove kidney stones 4 times over the past 7 years. I am so used to the feeling of the onset of this condition and when it occurs, I immediately seek medical attention to address the issue before it worsens to a point that the kidney stones need to be removed surgically. In August 2025, I again experienced the feeling of the onset of kidney stones (only 9 months after the last surgery) and having recently met Alta Wilters from Healing Herbs Apothecary, I decided to consult her. After a thorough consultation, she made up some herbal tea as well as a tincture of suitable herbal remedies. I used this daily as prescribed and felt so much better with no pain at all. After about 2 weeks, I had severe pain for a few hours and then all was clear again. I strongly believe that the herbal remedy had broken down the stone/stones and the pain experience for those few hours, was when the debris were excreted.
